Otsego County is home to more than 1,200 businesses. The wide variety of products manufactured here includes communications equipment, integrated circuits, pharmaceuticals, transportation equipment, plastic and rubber products, and food and beverage processors. Other major employers include insurance companies, colleges, health care facilities, and retailers. The area's highly skilled labor force numbers over 350,000 and there are many training and apprenticeship programs provided locally to enable employees to keep their skills up-to-date with the changing technology.
